The basics: always use a good lock, park in a well-lit motorcycle bay where you can, and rely on GPS tracking so a stolen moped can be found. Every Moon Fleets subscription includes an anti-theft lock and 24/7 GPS tracking as standard, and if the worst happens we handle the theft claim in-house — you notify the police, and we use the GPS to help recover the vehicle.
Optional Damage & Excess Protection (£20/month) caps what you’d pay after theft or damage at a £50 excess. The result is that, unlike owning, you’re not left alone to deal with a stolen bike — the lock, the tracking and the recovery process all come with the subscription.

Which habits prevent most thefts?
Always lock the moped, even for a minute. Park in a busy, well-lit motorcycle bay rather than a quiet side street. Don’t leave the key in or valuables in the top-box. If you have removable batteries, taking one inside also makes the bike far less attractive to thieves.
If a moped is ever stolen, notify the police immediately and tell us — the GPS and our in-house claims handling do the rest. You’re responsible for the vehicle while it’s with you, so these small habits matter.
